Since 2006, the Liberal Movement has been gradually strengthening its position as the main political party in Lithuania. It has steadily increased its popularity, political positions and support among the young and the well-off. Nevertheless, the party is often criticised for favouring big-business and not being liberal enough on value issues. It is also regarded in its policies as similar to Homeland Union – Lithuanian Cristian Democrats.
